Test plans
Test plans can be created quickly and associated with test suites with ease. Our test plan builder allows you to create a test plan from a template, offering guidance on what content should be included. Alternatively it allows you to create one yourself from scratch.
Making use of our simple interface, each test plan can be updated at any point without affecting the content of plans that may already be associated with test runs, allowing your plans to easily change with your needs.
Test suites and cases
We give you the tools to quickly put together your test suite. Each test suite is made up of a collection of test cases, which can be easily created, added from your existing test case library or modified. Using our simple interface, these can then be placed into the order you wish to execute them within each test run.
The cases of each test suite can be updated at any time, even when you have test runs in progress. This allows you to constantly provide updates allowing your test to evolve over time to continue to meet your needs.
Requirements
Requirements can be added to a project at any stage and they are kept within documents to help keep them organized. Each requirement is made up of a title along with an optional description. Once created, each requirement can be assigned to one or more test cases and these can be modified or removed at any stage during the project.
During or after a test run you will be able to generate a report showing which requirements have successfully been verified and which haven't.
Test runs
Executing your tests couldn't be simpler, we make it easy to create single or multiple test runs from any of your test suites or cases. Before any test run starts, all associated test cases and test plans are copied, meaning any updates to this data by you or another member of your team will not affect any existing test run.
Using the simple interface, you will be guided through each test and allowed to state if the test has passed, failed or been skipped along with an area to keep a record of the actual test result.
At any point during or after the test run, you can view the results and filter by passed, failed or skipped. This gives you the ability to easily generate bug reports and view all tests that my have failed.
Issue tracker integration
TestLodge can be integrated with your existing issue tracking tools to allow tickets and bug reports to be automatically created when a test case fails.
Details such as description, steps to replicate, expected outcome and actual result are all submitted to your chosen issue tracker allowing anyone to easily replicate the issue. Each failed test case is then linked directly to the created ticket.
For those test tools that automatic ticket creation is not yet supported, you can still input project and ticket numbers which will link each case to the ticket created.
Support for more issue tracking tools will be added soon, if there is one you would like us to prioritize, please let us know.
